What is Hypnotherapy?
Hypnotherapy is when a trained, qualified Hypnotherapist uses Hypnosis techniques to give positive, beneficial suggestions to an individual to create change in their life. The Hypnotherapist will use techniques to get the individual into an altered state of consciousness, a deeply relaxed state. Positive suggestions are then given to help them to overcome issues or achieve their goals in life. Hypnotherapy is fast, natural and safe, has no side effects, is pain and drug free and totally natural. You will probably feel calmer and more relaxed afterwards. Hypnotherapy has been around since 2000BC. Hypnotherapy is totally different to Stage Hypnosis which is for the benefit of an audience and purely for entertainment.
What is Hypnosis?
Hypnosis is an altered state, a different level of awareness, where a person is highly responsive to suggestion or direction but is aware of their surroundings and what is going on.
Are you unconscious?
During a Hypnotherapy session you are not unconscious or asleep, it is a similar state to day dreaming. You are aware of your surroundings and what is happening.
Can anyone be hypnotised?
Most people use self hypnosis on a daily basis. You feel comfortable and relaxed, then your conscious mind wanders, but you still continue what you were doing eg. watching tv, staring out of a window, driving your car on autopilot. So, in answer to the question, if you want to be hypnotised and want change in your life – yes, anyone can be hypnotised.
