Beware the Thoughts You Entertain – You Are What You Think You Are!

We all need to care for and look after our mind just as much as we look after our body.  Your mind is in an untapped source that can make you hugely successful in life, or make you fail miserably.  Whether you realize it or not, the subconscious/unconscious part of your mind is much more powerful than your conscious mind.

Your subconscious is like a huge memory bank with a virtually unlimited capacity. Everything that you have seen, done and learned (the good, the bad and the ugly) is stored in your subconscious mind. It’s almost an infinite corridor full of filing cabinets, which are full, half full or empty and waiting to be filled. It’s where all of your habits and behaviours are stored too.

By the age of 21, you’ve already stored more than 100 times the contents of the Encyclopedia Britannica!

Your conscious mind is the logical, critical thinking and thought functioning part that makes decisions, and knows right from wrong.  Your conscious mind is aware of emotions, sensations, urges and perceptions and it has no memory.

Your mind is the garden; your thoughts are the seeds –

You can grow flowers or you can grow weeds……..

 How you think impacts on how you feel emotionally, which then impacts how you act, or react.  Therefore to learn or make changes in your life – it takes conscious effort.  If you start thinking positive thoughts, you can create a positive mindset, which then impacts on how you feel.  You will feel happy, confident and able to achieve your goals – you are then also more likely to look after yourself physically. 

Where The Mind Goes – The Body Follows.

If you have a negative mindset and entertain negative thoughts, you may feel that the world and everyone in it is against you. You may fail and not reach your goals because you tell yourself that you are a failure. You may not look after yourself physically, neglect your appearance, feed your emotions or drink too much alcohol.  Everything may seem to be out of control in your life.

What about the images and films you play in your mind.  How do you see yourself – fat for the rest of your life, lacking self-esteem and confidence? 

You Can Change Yourself by Changing the Way You Think!

 You create your anxiety, stress, and panic etc. no one else. You have a choice – you can carry on living a negative life, with barriers, failures and blocks – or you can take back control, change your mindset to be positive.  You could become a confident, toned, happy person who is achieving life goals.

It is quite enlightening to realise that you have a choice and that you can make positive changes – if you really want to.

    I think it’s really empowering when you realise you can make the choices and take control. It doesn’t mean it’s always easy, but it feels like a better place to be.
